Not every change needs a new piece of furniture. A small secondhand find can make an everyday ritual a little more enjoyable, from setting the table to arranging a favourite shelf.

01

Choose a gentle thread

A shared colour, material or shape can bring a few different objects together. Try pairing warm timber with ceramic glazes, or choosing several shades of a colour you already love.

02

Give useful things a place

Keep the bowl you reach for near the fruit, and the jug you use where it is easy to find. Objects feel natural when their place follows their purpose.

03

Allow some breathing room

A few objects with a little space between them can say more than a crowded shelf. Vary the height and leave room for each shape to be seen.

04

Enjoy what is already there

Before adding something, try moving an existing piece. A different shelf or a new pairing can be enough to make a familiar object feel newly appreciated.

A little thought. A little character.
A home that feels like you.
